Public-Private Partnership streamlines access to state support services

Governor Cuomo’s announced a new web application created through a public-private partnership with Google dot org to help New Yorkers locate benefits to assist them during their time of need.

The social services discovery application is aimed at helping individuals who are new to or unfamiliar with the state’s social programs.

It prompts users with a series of simple questions aimed at narrowing the field of possible services to only those that are best designed to serve their needs.

It was developed at no cost to taxpayers thanks to the public-private partnership, and the code has been made open-source to allow other governments to use this project to meet the needs of their residents.
